How can you tell a maple neck a rosewood neck on an electric guitar?

I assume you mean vs Maple fingerboard rosewood. The necks are almost never made rosewood … too heavy and expensive. A maple fingerboard is usually almost white to cream colored and usually is finished Non-transparent stain on it. Rosewood is brown-burgundy color with occasional streaks of brown and beige and almost never has a final applied.
