Essential Technique
Traveling around the world – how should I pack for cold beaches and mountains in 1 pack?

I am planning to travel in China, Southeast Asia, New Zealand and South America by both rural and urban, cold and boiling hot. As this is my first pack, I see how I can serve the 8-12 months, and to contrast all the requirements within my allowance of 20 kg. Any tips and advice as to the essentials to take, which can be left back and packaging techniques would be much appreciated!

The trick is to have elements backpackers you can use several times in almost all weather conditions – As long sleeve shirts shirts, windbreaker jackets and pants that zip-off at the knees, for example. Start with the "base layer". Jerseys light, they keep low heat for cold weather clothing, but can also be used outdoors as t-shirts in hot weather. As should be comfortable and lightweight, but maybe a little presentable, simultaneously. Pants – the kind that zip-off at the knees are very valuable, worth the investment if you need to buy. Two pairs of these should do the trick. Avoid jeans, are very uncomfortable if they get too wet and be the first time that the rain was miserable. Try to get your hands on a pair of spandex running pants too, they are extremely "packable" and are good by themselves or when worn under pants for some other more heat in the cold, besides being comfortable to sleep in. Head – A scarf is an ideal accessory to have (ever watched Survivor and seen used so often as they are?). Never there is little room for a handkerchief. You should also keep along a baseball cap or other hat of your choice. A lot of body heat escapes frrom the head, so this is really important. Outer layer – A windbreaker jacket, preferably waterproof and with a hood. Also a polar cap is a good choice. Maybe a sweater as well. The trick here is that you want multiple layers that can be put into or withdrawn as needed and used in all possible situations in some way. Your "shelter" may be the exception here, obviously, you need a coat for the cold, but try to get something that can be stuffed away in the bottom of the backpack when not needed. The Wool is the absolute best material for gloves, as it will keep you warm even when wet. Shoes – A pair of sneakers or sandals, and only if you have space. Preferably, Make sure your hiking boots or whatever you are using for the trip could be used all the time if necessary, can not be, having to wear shoes extra large space saves time. In any case, take more than socks you think will be necessary (at least one or two additional pairs). Other stuff – sleeping bag (usually to your package in any way), sunscreen, toilet paper, healthy and light snacks, bandages (for minor cuts and blisters on the feet), aspirin or ibuprofen and two bottles of water. All you have to pack up nice and easy. Experiment with different ways of actually every package. Something that Google calls the "package" packing method. Usually clothes better roll on each other instead of trying to fold everything. In general, bulky things get stuck in the bottom of the backpack and the Smaller items set out in great things or at the top. However, try putting the most important things where you can quickly take the most of them without having to undo everything. Good luck and have fun. :)
